The Hartbeespoort Dam is home to Pecanwood Estate which boasts one of the finest golf estates in the country.

In 1992, Maccon purchased a farm on the banks of the Hartbeespoort Dam with a view to creating one of South Africa’s first residential golf estates, which could also double as a venue for those residents in Gauteng wishing to own an accessible weekend getaway.

Golf Data, construction representatives for Jack Nicklaus in South Africa, built the challenging Pecanwood Golf Club’s course, which is the first Jack Nicklaus signature course in Africa, and which has been subsequently rated as one of South Africa’s top golf courses.

Lanseria International Airport is a short drive from Hartbeespoort and has regular scheduled services to Durban, Cape Town and George, while OR Tambo International is within easy driving distance along the major toll roads and highways which service this region.
